He is a Maned Wolf humanoid with Lightning abilities. He is from another world.He was recruited to be an Interdimensional Equalizer as soon as his abilities manifested by a group called "The Watchers". They are extradimensional beings that watch over all of the universes through time and space. The Interdimensional Equalizers are sent through time and space to different worlds to defeat great evils corruption them and to restore balance.Each Equalizer is soul bonded with a companion upon completing training. These companions come in many different forms. Maxwood's Companion, Solo happens to take the form of a Great Pyrenees dog most of the time.After Maxwood's last mission he was meant to be sent to back to his home world to visit with family and friends for a short time and introduce everyone to Solo, but something happened and Maxwood and Solo somehow ended up on earth. With no way to contact The Watchers, the other Equalizers, or even each other they have been stuck here and searching for each other for several years.TL;DR:Maxwood is a Maned Wolf humanoid with Lightning abilities. He was sent here by mistake, malfunction, or sabotage he is not sure. When He originally arrived he didnt know that anything had gone wrong except for the fact that Solo was not by his side like he always is. So, the first thing he did was set out on a jouney to find his familiar and companion because they hadn't been separated before unwillingly like this. They are soul bonded. So they are linked to each other in like a spiritual way. So, eventually they found their way back by each others side. Once that happened Max started to realise that there was no "great evil to defeat" on earth. And earth is also several centuries or even millenia behind a lot of the worlds he has previously been sent to. So there was no way to get back or communicate with other galaxies or or universes here. He ultimately settled in but and to live a pretty secluded life as to not draw attention to himself or solo as he had quickly learned humans are not very found of beings that are different then themselves, even other humans. So, he has been on earth for a few decades at this point and has just now started to try and make friends online through streaming and stuff
Solo is Maxwood's lightning familiar, he was assigned to maxwood when Maxwood was recruited to be an interdimensional equalizer. The are bound together by their soul, giving them both a boost to their power and giving maxwood eternal live. but if either of them die then so does the other
